Nikon D90 SLR or Nikon D5000?

Many photographers find it hard to decide which DSLR to get, the first-rate Nikon D90 or the latest Nikon D5000? The D90 has already amazed a lot of photographers since its release. But many people say the D5000 would be a lot better.

Here is the predicament of the troubled photographer: Would you buy the D() right now or wait until the first week of May for the D5000? Read on to know what other enthusiasts say about this camera:

Clouised: The D90 is definitely the better camera. You should grab it now before the price skyrockets. I am warning you, the D90 price is shooting up real fast.

hockey_magnet: If the D5000 stays at the $799 price, I think the D90 features are worth paying the extra $ for. The D90 also has the sub command dial, which is significant, particularly when shooting manually.

Mark Shaw: The D5000 looks like an entry-level camera, but the D90 would be meant for more serious enthusiasts. The D5000 is around $200 cheaper than the D90. Considering the price and specs, the D90 is a better camera for a bit more dollars.

Skaterboy: The D90 screen alone is definitely a major plus (3-inch 920 high-definition video). ‘Nuff said.

Smiley: The Nikon D5000 is not yet available, so a lot of people are all super excited about this device. If you really need to get a DSLR now, then but the Nikon D90. If you do not, wait a bit, read some reviews when they come out, see if there are any major problems, and make an educated decision a few weeks or months after the camera is made available.

Puss in Boots: I got my beautiful D90 a month ago. Seeing the specs of the D5000, it seems I made the right buy. I am happy with the built in focus motor, commander mode, high resolution LCD, etc.
